Hi, I'm pretty new in Mac word. I just bought a MacbookPro late 2011, with AMD Radeon HD 6770M, what came with Mojave 10.14.3. Everything works fine except. MacBook Pro 15″ – 8.2 – Late 2011 A1286 – Mojave perfect installation and functionality. MacBook Pro 15″ – 8.2 – Early 2011 A1286 – Install, reboot, apply patch, reboot, charge boot at 50% then stop (never arrive at login) Both have Intel Graphic HD 3000.

Hello. With support for High Sierra ending soon, I'm thinking of upgrading to macOS Mojave using dosdude1's Mojave Patcher Tool for Unsupported Macs. My question is it worth the upgrade in terms of performance when livestreaming using OBS? I'll have to disable the AMD GPU 'cause of the transition to Apple's Metal graphics API. Does anyone know if OBS's performance under Metal is worse or not, especially on older hardware? Although, OBS performs okay on High Sierra, it has some issues like encoding overload when bitrate is too high (3000+ kbps @720p) or I can't use any slower preset than Very Fast. I'm hoping Mojave has better performance with OBS. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a late macbook pro 2011 and i'd like to update to Mojave but it says my machine isn't new enough? Is this correct and is there a reason a macbook that is only 7 years old cannot be updated to the new software? Doesn't seem to make any sense why it's not compatible. In 2016 my GPU broke and I get it replaced for free with Apple Exchange and Repair Extension Programs (ended in 2016). Today replaced GPU broke. 😞 So, I have macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 17G5019 installed. (The latest High Sierra at this moment).
